12 ways to improve your health

  1. read labels and know what you are eating
  2. eat a variety of different colored fruits and vegetables daily- include some raw vegetables as well as cooked
  3. switch to butter and avoid margarine and hydrogenated oils
  4. spend a few minutes each day in quiet contemplation- simply breathing, and counting your blessings
  5. drink plenty of water
  6. eat locally grown, organic vegetables whenever possible
  7. have most of your food be home cooked
  8. do not eat when you're upset or rushing
  9. make your own salad dressing- with olive oil, raw apple cider vinegar, mustard and dried herbs of choice. Most commercial brands contain many chemicals, preservatives and thickeners
  10. chew your food slowly, and breathe deeply- use eating as a time to relax
  11. know your body's needs for rest, try to honor that, and take naps whenever you can
  12. practice forgiveness
