12 ways to improve your health

- read labels and know what you are eating
- eat a variety of different colored fruits and vegetables daily- include some raw vegetables as well as cooked
- switch to butter and avoid margarine and hydrogenated oils
- spend a few minutes each day in quiet contemplation- simply breathing, and counting your blessings
- drink plenty of water
- eat locally grown, organic vegetables whenever possible
- have most of your food be home cooked
- do not eat when you're upset or rushing
- make your own salad dressing- with olive oil, raw apple cider vinegar, mustard and dried herbs of choice. Most commercial brands contain many chemicals, preservatives and thickeners
- chew your food slowly, and breathe deeply- use eating as a time to relax
- know your body's needs for rest, try to honor that, and take naps whenever you can
- practice forgiveness
