About Holly
Holly Shelowitz is a Culinary Nutrition Counselor and Real Food Educator. Holly_sm
Since 1999 through her client sessions, cooking classes and educational events,
Holly has been inspiring people to eat their greens and get into their kitchens and cook.

She leads Workplace Wellness Workshops and is a keynote speaker throughout the tri state area, educating on site in corporations, educational institutions and community organizations.
In 2010, Holly was hired by Whole Foods Market as the Northeast Regional Nutrition Educator, helping to create two Healthy Eating Education programs company wide. In 2013, she brought the wisdom to her local community and created the Healthy Eating Education Program at Mother Earth’s Stores, establishing cooking demonstrations, food sampling and store tours for customers.
In the Summer of 2014, she brought her knowledge and experience to open the Sunflower Cafe in Rhinebeck, NY. Hiring staff, establishing systems, creating the smoothie and juice menu were a really fun and creative endeavor.
Holly is a regular guest on WDST Radio Woodstock’s morning show, cooking on the air and talking healthy eating with Jimmy Buff and the staff who always wanders into the studio wondering what smells so good!
Holly has taught nutrition and cooking classes at The Natural Gourmet Institute for Food and Health In Manhattan, The Bronx Botanical Gardens, and at numerous farmers markets, culinary stores, libraries, colleges and schools. She graduated in 2000 from The Institute for Integrative Nutrition’s Professional Training Program in Manhattan and has studied herbal healing with Pam Montgomery, Dina Falconi, Deb Soule, Rosemary Gladstar and Susun Weed. Holly loves to cook and eat delicious food!
Nutrition and Cooking is a second career for Holly. She is a professional photographer and had a studio for 14 years in Manhattan’s Union Square. Her specialty was photographing children, at first for families, then moving into commercial work for toy manufacturers. She has 4 children’s books published; 3 with Goldenbooks, titled “Animal Babies”, “At the Playground”, and “All About Food”, and 1 book published with Walker Publishing, titled “Oh Baby!” Her photography is an integral part of her nutrition work and she shows and sells her work regularly.
